Thank you letter to Modi

Dear Mr Modi

Thank you for increasing the ATM withdrawal amount to Rs 4500, 11 ATMs later I found a working one and was able to get Rs 4000.

Also thank you for NOT lulling us into a false sense of security and keeping the withdrawal limit by cheque at Rs 24,000 as my bank was only able to give me Rs 10,000 is gorgeous crisp Rs 2000 notes, that matched my hair.

All in all a wonderful morning methinks, the anticipation, suspense and waiting made my day :)

I shall now enjoy a cup of tea with tea leaves that I had to buy using cash as my banjya has given up the the swip machine and just takes cash again

Sincerely yours

A maaji with attitude (52 days on)

Think a quick intro is in order.........

I am.....
an older mother of a teenager
a single mother
a sometimes tired mother
a sometimes reluctant mother
a proud mother
a happy mother
a 'different' mother ...............

Once you become a mother, you are known as 'X's mother'.  It's not good, it's not bad, it just is ! So going with the flow I desribe myself in 'motherly' terms

The other day an ola driver called me 'maaji'.  Now I've been called 'aunty' for a few years now, but this really stopped me in my tracks.

Many years ago I stopped dying my hair, it's just too much effort and life is too short, and having very 'snowy' jeans I am pretty grey. Also being 55 I am pretty wrinkly. If anyone has seen Ally Mcbeal, when I say I have a 'sexy wattle' (as far as Richard Fish is concerned) you will know what I mean. In addition to that I am voluptuous to say the least, and the less said about that the better.........but still 'Maaji' ??? Lordy lord, something had to be done.

So I whisked myself off the the hairdressers and asked to go purple !  Nope, they only had green and red, so I opted for red dodgy streaks and this is the result.  It will only last a month I've been told sooooo either I'll go back 'au natural' or go for purple.  Time will tell

Why blog ? why not ? I thought.

So here are the mutterings and musings of 'A maaji with attitude' with a big thank-you to the ola cabbie who got me blogging.  We shall see how long it lasts (it is my second attempt !)

Enjoy ! (or not)
